About ODA
Ensuring a secured future for people with disability & socially vulnerable women
Who We Are
We work for people with disabilities and women who are socially vulnerable, living in rural areas and especially in poverty.
Organisation for Development Action (ODA) was established in 2003 to promote Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) work among persons with disabilities and others who are socially vulnerable, living in poverty and facing social injustice in rural areas. Our main focus is to build the capacity of the stakeholders to form Self Help Groups (SHG) and peoples’ organisations to address their basic needs and rights such as education, medical, rehabilitation and employment which help them to build a life of dignity and come out of the cycle of poverty.

Our Approach

- Our Mission
ODA upholds and is guided by the values of dignity, inclusion, equality and independence. Accountability and transparency are other sets of values that we practice with the community and other development stakeholders.
- Our Vision
Our Vision is of an equitable, just and inclusive society where the rights of persons with disabilities and socially marginalized groups are realized and thereby enjoy full participation in all spheres of life.
- Our Work
We are promoting CBR work directly in 40 panchayats of Karur district and empowering vulnerable women economically to overcome poverty. Also, guiding NGOs, Disabled People’s Organizations and Parents Associations in Tamil Nadu and the Kerala States with networking and required capacity-building measures.
